Fescue grass is cool season grass. Fescue is a legumes that is used to make hay. Fescue is one of the most common grasses to use to fed cattle. The legume component of the diet introduces nitrogen into the animal’s system. However, it is important to carefully monitor this intake otherwise you will risk bloat. Sheep will also eat fescue grass.  Sheep generally prefer a higher volume of legumes to grasses. Ideally, you should feed your flock 30 percent grass and 70 percent legume.
